Lejeunea adalah genus lumut hati berdaun dalam keluarga Lejeuneaceae.[1] GBIF mencantumkan hingga 592 spesies (per Oktober 2022), bersama dengan distribusi di seluruh dunia.[2] Sedangkan World Flora Online mencantumkan hingga 531 spesies (per Juli 2023).[3]

Genus ini dibatasi oleh Marie-Anne Libert dalam Ann. Gen. Sci. Phys. vol.6 pada halaman 372 di tahun 1820.[3]

Namanya diberikan untuk menghormati Alexandre Louis Simon Lejeune (1779–1858), seorang dokter dan ahli botani asal Belgia.[4][5]
