Limfoma Burkitt

Limfoma Burkitt (atau "tumor Burkitt") adalah kanker yang terjadi pada sistem limfatik (biasanya pada limfosit B). Penyakit ini dinamai berdasarkan nama Denis Parsons Burkitt, orang yang pertama kali mendeskripsikan penyakit ini tahun 1956 ketika berada di Afrika ekuatorial. Kini limfoma Burkitt dapat dibagi menjadi tiga variasi klinikal: endemik, sporadik dan yang berhubungan dengan defisiensi imun. Endemik penyakit ini muncul di Afrika ekuatorial. Penyakit ini umumnya menyerang anak-anak.
