Livistona halongensis adalah spesies palem yang pertama kali dikoleksi di Teluk Ha Long, Vietnam, pada tahun 1999.[2][3][4] Spesies ini dideskripsikan oleh Tiên Hiêp Nguyên dan Ruth Kiew pada tahun 2000.[3] Tumbuhan ini merupakan jenis palem kipas.[5]

Deskripsi

Livistona halongensis tumbuh hingga setinggi 10 meter (30 ft), dengan diameter batang sekitar 20 cm (8 in). Daunnya berukuran panjang hingga 77 cm (30 in). Perbungaan menghasilkan bunga berwarna kuning. Buahnya berwarna hijau.[4]

Distribusi dan habitat

Livistona halongensis adalah tumbuhan endemik Vietnam, yang terbatas di pulau-pulau Teluk Hạ Long, sebuah Situs Warisan Dunia UNESCO. Habitatnya berada di celah-celah bebatuan kapur di pulau-pulau tersebut.[4]
