Etimologi

Kepulauan Turks di Kepulauan Turks dan Caicos dinamai berdasarkan kaktus ini, yang sefaliun merahnya menyerupai fez yang dikenakan oleh pria Turki pada akhir Kekaisaran Ottoman.[3][4] Versi stilasi dari kaktus ini muncul secara mencolok pada lambang Kepulauan Turks dan Caicos.
