Monotes adalah sebuah genus tumbuhan berbunga dalam keluarga Dipterocarpaceae. Namanya yang memiliki arti "persatuan" atau "keunikan" dipilih karena genus tersebut adalah satu-satunya genus dipterokarpus yang saat itu diketahui ditemukan di Afrika.[1] Wilayah Zambezia adalah pusat dari keragaman genus tersebut.[2]
