Oxyeleotris adalah sebuah genus ikan dalam ordo Butidae yang sebagian besar spesiesnya tersebar di Australia dan Papua. Beberapa spesies dari Oxyeleotris ditemukan di Asia Tenggara, yaitu Oxyeleotris marmorata, Oxyeleotris siamensis, Oxyeleotris urophthalmoides, dan Oxyeleotris urophthalmus. Habitat utama dari spesies-spesies dalam genus Oxyeleotris ditemukan hidup pada perairan dengan air tawar dan air payau. Dua spesies lainnya yakni Oxyeleotris caeca dan Oxyeleotris colasi merupakan ikan penghuni gua.[2]
