Petalophyllaceae adalah famili dari lumut hati dalam ordo Fossombroniales. Sebagian besar spesiesnya bersifat talosa; artinya, tumbuhan ini tidak terdeferensiasi menjadi akar, batang, dan daun. Talus biasanya berukuran kecil dan memiliki lamela pada permukaan dorsal-nya yang memberikan tampilan berkerut dan menyerupai daun.[2][3]
Famili ini mencakup dua marga yang masih ada, yaitu Petalophyllum dan Sewardiella.[2]
