Phyllothallia adalah genus kecil lumut hati dari Belahan Bumi Selatan. Genus ini diklasifikasikan ke dalam ordo Pallaviciniales dan merupakan satu-satunya anggota famili Phyllothalliaceae dalam ordo tersebut. Tidak seperti kebanyakan anggota Metzgeriales, Phyllothallia memiliki penampilan yang berdaun.[1] Genus ini memiliki distribusi terpisah (disjungsi), dengan spesies Phyllothallia nivicola ditemukan di Selandia Baru sementara spesies lainnya dalam genus ini, Phyllothallia fuegiana, ditemukan di Tierra del Fuego.[2]
