Siphonostomatoida adalah ordo copepoda yang mengandung sekitar 75% dari semua copepoda yang menjadi parasit pada ikan.[1] Kesuksesan mereka telah dikaitkan dengan kepemilikan mandibula seperti siphon dan "filamen frontal" untuk membantu keterikatan pada inang mereka.[2] Sebagian besarnya hidup di laut, tetapi ada juga yang hidup di air tawar tetapi sedikit.[3]
