Bambusa ridleyi Gamble

Soejatmia adalah sebuah genus tumbuhan berbunga monotipik dalam famili Poaceae yang hanya mencakup satu spesies, yaitu Soejatmia ridleyi (Gamble) K.M.Wong[2]

Sebaran aslinya membentang dari semenanjung Thailand hingga Semenanjung Malaya.[2]

Nama genus Soejatmia dinamai untuk menghormati Soejatmi Dransfield (lahir 1939), yaitu seorang taksonom tumbuhan Inggris kelahiran Indonesia yang ahli pada tumbuhan bambu.[3] Nama spesies ridleyi merujuk kepada Henry Nicholas Ridley (1855 – 1956), yaitu seorang ahli botani, geolog dan naturalis Inggris yang menghabiskan sebagian besar hidupnya di Singapura.[4] Genus dan spesiesnya pertama kali dideskripsikan dan dipublikasikan oleh Kew Bull. Vol.48, halaman 530-532 pada 1993.[2]
