Space Launch System

Space Launch System (SLS, Bahasa Indonesia: Sistem Peluncuran Ruang Angkasa) adalah sebuah roket peluncur kelas-super berat[a] yang dirancang Amerika Serikat. Roket ini diturunkan dari desain Shuttle-Derived Launch Vehicle (SDLV), yang menggunakan komponen dan teknologi dari Program Pesawat Ulang Alik dan Program Constellation.[2] Setelah Program Constellation dibatalkan, NASA merancang roket ini untuk menggantikan Pesawat Ulang Alik. Roket ini pertama kali meluncur pada tannggal 16 November 2022 pada misi nirawak Artemis 1.[3]
Roket ini telah direncanakan untuk menjadi roket utama dari program eksplorasi ruang angkasa NASA, termasuk penerbangan bulan berawak Program Artemis, dan kemungkinan misi manusia ke Mars.[4] SLS direncanakan untuk meluncurkan wahana berawak Orion dan menggunakan fasilitas kompleks peluncuran 39B Pusat Luar Angkasa Kennedy di Florida.
