Dan Simmons (lahir 4 April 1948) adalah seorang penulis fiksi ilmiah dan horor asal Amerika. Ia adalah pengarang Hyperion Cantos dan lingkar Ilium/Olympos, beberapa karya lainnya yang meliputi genre fantasi, horor dan fiksi ilmiah, terkadang dalam sebuah novel tunggal. Contoh khas dari genre silang Simmons adalah Song of Kali (1985), pemenang World Fantasy Award.[1] Ia juga menulis misteri dan cerita seru, beberapa diantaranya menampilkan karakter Joe Kurtz.
