The Boxer adalah lagu dari duo pemusik folk Amerika, Simon and Garfunkel. Lagu ini direkam dalam waktu yang sangat lama, lebih dari 100 jam guna menghasilkan karya yang sesuai dengan keinginan mereka berdua, sehingga dibanding-bandingkan dengan lagu Good Vibrations karya The Beach Boys. Perekaman dilakukan di 3 tempat, yaitu di Nashville, Katedral St.Paul (New York) dan Studio Columbia. Versi panjang The Boxer sebenarnya dipotong dalam sesi rekaman tetapi dikemas utuh di album solo Paul Simon, Live Rhymin' tahun 1974. Lagu ini diduga sebagai lagu yang seharusnya jadi lagu tema film Midnight Cowboy. Versi daur ulang lagu ini dinyanyikan oleh Bob Dylan dan Emmylou Harris.
Dirilis pada tahun 1969, The Boxer mencapai nomor 7 di tangga lagu Amerika pada bulan April.
Menurut kritik, lirik The Boxer dianggap sangat otobiografis dan kemungkinan ditulis untuk "menyerang Bob Dylan".
The Boxer dinilai sebagai salah satu produk musik dekade dikarenakan musiknya yang dikerjakan sangat serius.
