Tikus viscacha dataran[3] adalah spesies hewan pengerat dalam famili Octodontidae yang berasal dari Argentina. Ini adalah salah satu dari tiga spesies dalam genus Tympanoctomys.[4][5]

Tikus viscacha dataran merupakan tikus berukuran sedang dengan kepala besar, ekor panjang, dan telinga pendek. Dewasanya berukuran sekitar 13 cm, dengan ekor sepanjang 15 cm (5,9 in) dan bobot rata-rata 90 g (3,2 oz). Ukuran jantan sedikit lebih besar dari betina. Rambut tiksu ini bungalan-kuning dengan perut putih yang memudar menjadi cokelat gelap di ujung ekornya.[6]
