Tunika media adalah lapisan dinding pembuluh darah yang berada di tengah di antara tunika intima dan tunika adventisia.[1][2]
Tunika media merupakan bagian dinding pembuluh darah yang berperan dalam elastisitas, vasoreaktivitas, dan sebagai unsur penyokong pembuluh darah. Lapisan ini terdiri atas sel otot polos yang dikontrol oleh saraf otonom dan faktor metabolit lokal sehingga akan mengalami vasokonstriksi (diameter mengecil) dan vasodilasi (diameter melebar, serat elastis yang memungkinkan pembuluh darah membesar saat sistolik dan mengecil saat diastolik, dan jaringan ikat.[1][3]
