Sejarah
Vatu diperkenalkan pada 1981, setahun setelah kemerdekaan, untuk menggantikan franc Hebrides Baru yang bernilai setara.
Uang kertas
Pada 22 Maret 1982, uang kertas diintroduksikan oleh Bank Sentral Vanuatu dalam denominasi 100, 500, dan 1,000 vatu.[2]
