Geografi
- Di utara berbatasan dengan Samudra Atlantik dan Maine-et-Loire, timur dengan Deux-Sèvres, di selatan dengan Charente-Maritime, dan di barat dengan Teluk Biscay.
Sejarah
Departemen Vendée dibentuk selama Revolusi Prancis pada 4 Maret 1790, sebagai bagian provinsi historis Poitou.
Awalnya ibu kota terletak di Fontenay-le-Comte, oleh Napoleon Bonaparte, pada 1804, dipindahkan ke La Roche-sur-Yon, yang pada saat itu bernama Napoléon-sur-Yon.
