Vianaea adalah genus tumbuhan berbunga dalam keluarga Poaceae. Genus ini mencakup satu spesies tunggal, Vianaea effusa, sejenis bambu yang endemik di Brasil timur.[1] Tumbuhan ini umum ditemukan di ladang terbuka berbatu di Serra do Espinhaço, negara bagian Bahia dan Minas Gerais pada ketinggian 900 hingga 1550 meter, serta di formasi kuarsit di Quadrilátero Ferrífero, Minas Gerais.[2]
Spesies ini pertama kali dideskripsikan sebagai Arundinaria effusa oleh Eduard Hackel pada tahun 1903. Pada tahun 1973, Floyd Alonzo McClure menempatkan spesies ini ke dalam genus Aulonemia sebagai Aulonemia effusa.[1] Analisis filogenetika yang dipublikasikan oleh Jesus-Costa et al. menyimpulkan bahwa Aulonemia bersifat parafiletik, dan para penulis tersebut menempatkan spesies ini ke dalam genus monotipik yang baru dideskripsikan, Vianaea, sebagai V. effusa. Nama genus Vianaea diberikan untuk menghormati ahli botani Brasil, Pedro Lage Viana, seorang pakar Aulonemia asal Brasil yang menghabiskan masa mudanya di negara bagian Minas Gerais, tempat spesies tipe ini utamanya tumbuh.[2]
