Xyris complanata, yang dikenal sebagai feathered yellow-eye, adalah herba berumpun dalam keluarga Xyridaceae. Tumbuhan ini asli dari Tiongkok selatan, India, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Kamboja, Laos, Vietnam, Malaysia, Indonesia (Jawa, Sulawesi, Kalimantan, Sumatra), Filipina, Nugini, dan Australia (New South Wales, Queensland, Northern Territory, dan Australia Barat). Tumbuhan ini juga telah dinaturalisasi di Hawaii, di mana ia dikenal sebagai Hawai'i yelloweyed grass.[1][2][3] Di New South Wales, tumbuhan ini tumbuh di daerah lembap, seringkali di dekat rawa atau di padang semak (heathland).
Epitet spesifik complanata merujuk pada tangkai daunnya yang pipih.[4] Spesies ini pertama kali muncul dalam literatur ilmiah pada tahun 1810.[5]
