Yushania hirsuta adalah spesies bambu dari keluarga rumput (Poaceae), yang termasuk dalam genus Yushania di dalam tribus Arundinarieae.[1][2] Spesies ini awalnya dideskripsikan sebagai Arundinaria hirsuta oleh William Munro pada tahun 1868, berdasarkan spesimen yang dikumpulkan oleh William Griffith di Perbukitan Khasi di timur laut India pada ketinggian sekitar 1.700 meter.[3] Spesies ini dipindahkan ke genus Yushania oleh R.B. Majumdar pada tahun 1989.[4]

Tidak seperti kebanyakan spesies Yushania yang berasal dari Tiongkok, Y. hirsuta ditemukan di Himalaya bagian timur, tercatat di Perbukitan Khasi di Meghalaya, India.[2][5] Spesies ini memiliki aurikel berbentuk sabit yang menonjol dengan seta oral yang menyebar pada pelepah batang, fitur yang membedakannya dari taksa terkait di wilayah tersebut.[4]
