Zeugites sylvaticus adalah spesies rumput merumpun abadi.[2] Tumbuhan ini asli dari Kolombia dan Panama.[1] Spesies ini pertama kali dideskripsikan sebagai Calderonella sylvatica pada tahun 1973, yang merupakan satu-satunya spesies dalam genus Calderonella.[3]
