Main Roads Western Australia controls and maintains all freeways and highways, as well as some arterial roads,[1][2] collectively known as state roads.[3][4] The remaining roads are the responsibility of local governments;[2] major roads provide links to various destinations within Perth Metropolitan Region.[5][6][7]
