Papilionanthe – rodzaj roślin z rodziny storczykowatych (Orchidaceae). Obejmuje 10 gatunków[4]. Występują w południowo-wschodniej Azji w takich krajach i regionach jak: Andamany, Asam, Bangladesz, Borneo, Kambodża, południowo-centralne Chiny, wschodnie Himalaje, Indie, Laos, Małe Wyspy Sundajskie, Malezja, Mjanma, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Sumatra, Tajlandia, Wietnam. Zostały introdukowane poza tym na Karolinach, Kubie, Fidżi oraz Tajwanie[4]. Są to rośliny naziemne lub epifityczne rosnące w lasach na wysokościach do 2400 m n.p.m.[4]
Systematyka
Rodzaj sklasyfikowany do podplemienia Aeridinae w plemieniu Vandeae, podrodzina epidendronowe (Epidendroideae), rodzina storczykowate (Orchidaceae), rząd szparagowce (Asparagales) w obrębie roślin jednoliściennych[5][4][6].
