Syndermataklad problematycznych do sklasyfikowania[2] bezkręgowców, obejmujący wrotki (Rotifera) oraz kolcogłowy (Acanthocephala).

Dawniej wrotki wraz z kolcogłowami i innymi pseudojamowcami, tzn. nicieniami (Nematoda), brzuchorzęskami (Gastrotricha), ryjkogłowami (Kinorhyncha) a także niezmogowcami (Priapulida) zaliczane były do nieuznawanej już za ważną[3] grupy obleńców (Aschelminthes)[4]. Filogenetycznie i morfologicznie wykazano polifiletyzm obleńców, aczkolwiek spośród nich, wrotki oraz kolcogłowy dzielą ze sobą bliskiego wspólnego przodka. Efektem badań taksonomicznych było utworzenie kladu Syndermata, który został wsparty przez kilka następnych analiz[4].

Jednakże, relacje wewnątrz Syndermata pozostają nierozstrzygnięte. Zasugerowano, że Bdelloidea łącznie z kolcogłowami tworzą ze sobą wspólny takson nazwany Lemniscea[5] (co także zostało wsparte filogenetycznie), gdyż przedstawiciele obu grup posiadają ryjek oraz lemnisci, natomiast filogeneza oparta na morfologii plemników i strukturze naskórka sugeruje bliskie pokrewieństwo wrotków Seisonidea(inne języki) + kolcogłowów (grupa nazwana Pararotatoria[5]) i Bdelloidea + Monogononta(inne języki)[4]. Z kolei inne analizy wskazują na klad Pararotatoria + Bdelloidea, który nosi nazwę Hemirotifera[5]. Monofiletyzm Acanthocephala, i relacje między 4 gromadami tego typu są rozwiązane, zaś relacje między 3 gromadami wrotków są kontrowersyjne[4].

Syndermata obejmuje pasożytujące (endopasożyty) kolcogłowy, epibiotyczne Seisonidea oraz wolno żyjące Bdelloidea i Monogononta[6].

Syndermata są uznawane niekiedy za synonim Rotifera[5].
