Rodzinę Urocystidaceae utworzyli Dominik Begerow, Robert Bauer i Franz Oberwinkler w 1998 r. Typem nomenklatorycznym jest rodzaj Urocystis Rabenh. ex Fuckel 1870[1]. Według aktualizowanej klasyfikacji Species Fungorum bazującej na Dictionary of the Fungi do rodziny tej należą rodzaje:
