BMW M60 adalah mesin piston V8 DOHC yang diproduksi BMW tahun 1992 sampai 1996. Mesin ini adalah mesin V8 pertama BMW setelah 25 tahun sebelumnya. Digantikan M62.
Desain
Untuk mengurangi beban, mesin ini menggunakan bahan aluminum untuk blok mesin dan kepalas silinder dan intake manifold plastik.[1] Nikasil plating digunakan untuk silindernya. [[2] Total berat kering mesin ini adalah 203 kg (448 pon).[1]

Rusaknya Nikasil akibat bahan bakar tinggi sulfur
BMW menggunakan Nikasil- aloi aluminium, nikel, dan silikon- sebagai bahan silinder M60. Di beberapa negara dengan bahan bakar kandungan sulfur tinggi, maka sulfur merusak Nikasil dan menyebabkan mesin kehilangan kompresi.[3]
