Chionochloa adalah genus rumput tussock dalam famili Poaceae, yang utamanya ditemukan di Selandia Baru dengan satu spesies yang diketahui di Papua Nugini dan satu lagi di Pulau Lord Howe (bagian dari Australia).[1][2] Beberapa spesiesnya disebut sebagai snowgrass atau snow tussock.[3]
Sebagian besar spesies dalam genus ini tumbuh dalam rumpun, beberapa di antaranya mencapai ketinggian hingga 15 meter (50 kaki). Red tussock mendominasi padang rumput tussock tinggi di pegunungan vulkanik Pulau Utara Selandia Baru dan juga dapat ditemukan di daerah-daerah di paruh utara Pulau Selatan. Snow tussock, yang terdiri dari beberapa spesies, dapat ditemukan di atas garis pohon bersama dengan spesies lainnya.[4]
