Chionochloa pallens, atau mid-ribbed snow tussock, adalah spesies rumput yang endemik di Selandia Baru.[2] Spesies ini merupakan rumput tinggi dengan perbungaan berwarna merah muda.[3] Namun, deskripsi untuk subspesies nominat mencatat bahwa tumbuhan ini berbatang kokoh.[4] Spesies ini ditemukan baik di Pulau Utara maupun Pulau Selatan.[5]
