Insidensi

Insiden atau insidensi dalam epidemiologi adalah jumlah kasus baru (baru terdiagnosis) dari satu penyakit. Secara umum, insiden dilaporkan sebagai kasus baru dalam satu periode waktu tertentu, misalnya per bulan atau per tahun. Insiden sering disalahartikan dengan prevalensi. Prevalensi atau tingkat penyebaran adalah jumlah kasus hidup dalam satu periode waktu tertentu. Prevalensi memungkinkan kita untuk menentukan kemungkinan seseorang menderita penyakit. Insiden melihat kepada kasus baru sedangkan prevalensi menilai kasus yang sudah ada.[1][2]
