Mazama chunyi atau chunyi, adalah sebuah spesies rusa kecil dalam genus Mazama[2] yang berasal dari dataran tinggi Andes di Bolivia barat dan Peru tenggara, tempat di mana mereka hidup di hutan-hutan dan páramo. Bulunya cokelat kemerahan dengan bagian depan dan leher kelabu. Perutnya cokelat muda, sementara misainya pendek dan tebal. Bobotnya sekitar 11 kg.[3]

Merupakan spesies rusa jarum yang sedikit dipelajari, IUCN menganggap spesies ini sebagai spesies rentan. Riset mengenai spesies ini telah dilaksanakan di hutan-hutan Bolivia, memperluas lokalitas-lokalitas yang diketahui dan memodelkan sebaran geografis; sementara itu, hingga 40% dari habitatnya rusak atau terfragmen, sisanya mengalami konservasi yang baik. Hal ini yang menjadi alasan rekomendasi penilaian spesies ini sebagai spesies rentan.[4]
