Toyota Gaia adalah MPV di pasaran Jepang dan menjadi kompetitor dari Nissan Prairie dan Honda Shuttle. Mobil ini telah digantikan oleh Toyota Isis. Gaia berbagi sasis dengan Toyota Ipsum (sister car) dan Toyota Corona Premio. Diproduksi dari Mei 1998 sampai September 2004 untuk pasaran Jepang.
Pada bulan April 2001 ditambahkan opsi DVD player dengan navigasi, dan mesin T3S-FE diperbarui dengan 1AZ-FSE dengan Penggerak empat roda. 1AZ-FSE menggunakan teknologi D-4 (Direct Injection) Toyota.
