Minyak açaí

Minyak açaí diperoleh dari buah Euterpe oleracea (palem açaí), yang tumbuh di hutan hujan Amazon. Minyak ini kaya akan senyawa fenolik yang profilnya mirip dengan daging buahnya sendiri, seperti asam vanilat, asam siringat, asam p-hidroksibenzoat, asam protokatekuat, dan asam ferulat, serta (+)-katekin dan berbagai oligomer prosianidin.[1]

Minyak açai berwarna hijau dan memiliki aroma yang lembut. Minyak ini tinggi kandungan asam lemak oleat dan palmitat (tabel).[2]

Kegunaan

Minyak açai digunakan secara luas untuk memasak dan sebagai saus salad. Dalam kosmetik, minyak ini digunakan dalam sampo, sabun, dan pelembap kulit.[2]
