Flavan adalah turunan benzopiran yang menggunakan kerangka 2-fenil-3,4-dihidro-2H-kromena. Senyawa ini dapat ditemukan di tumbuhan. Senyawa-senyawa ini meliputi flavan-3-ol, flavan-4-ol, dan flavan-3,4-diol (leukoantosianidin).

Flavan C-glikosidik dapat diisolasi dari cokelat cair.[1]

Casuarina glauca adalah tumbuhan aktinorizal yang menghasilkan nodul pengikat nitrogen akar yang diinfestasi oleh Frankia. Terdapat pola lapisan sel yang teratur yang mengandung flavan.[2]
