Coelophysoidea adalah sebuah klad dinosaurus theropoda punah yang umum ditemukan selama periode Trias Akhir dan Jura Awal. Kelompok ini tersebar luas secara geografis, barangkali hidup di semua benua. Semua coelophysoidea berupa dinosaurus karnivora ramping, dicirikan dengan tengkorak yang panjang dan ramping dan tulang yang ringan untuk berlari,[1] dengan kemiripan superfisial dengan coelurosauria, dengannya mereka sebelumnya diklasifikasikan. Beberapa spesiesnya memiliki jambul kranial. Panjangnya berkisar antara 1 hingg 6 meter. Masih belum diketahui jenis tutupan luar yang dimiliki dinosaurus coelophysoid, dan banyak seniman telah menggambarkan mereka sebagai dinosaurus bersisik atau berbulu. Beberapa spesies barangkali hidup berkelompok, seperti yang dapat diketahui dari situs-situs di mana banyak individu ditemukan memfosil bersamaan.
